We have an opportunity for a couple of Experienced Compaction Driver’s to join our team based at our site in Chesterfield, S41 9HY.
As a Compaction Driver you will start work between 04.00 am & 05:00 am Monday to Friday, with the need to work Weekends on occasions and all Bank Holidays. You will be paid an enhanced rate of pay over 40 hours of work per week. This role is a cover driving role, covering holidays and sickness which will require an individual to learn multiple routes and several different vehicles such as bin lorries, Front end loading vehicles, 7.5T food & Glass vehicles, bin delivery vehicle and the rate of pay is £17.50 per hour. There maybe times where you are needed to travel to an alternative location to cover a route.
We pride ourselves on the standard of our fleet of vehicles which are all less than 5 years old – we are also excited to have just received a brand-new fleet of vehicles. You will be part of a team of over 100+ driving professionals all committed to doing their part in environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
You will play a key role in our business, transporting materials from our customers to our processing sites. It is here that the materials (metal and waste) are processed and transformed into reusable materials before being transported to take their next step on their journey.
A typical day will include:
- Communicating with your planner and following daily routes
- Liaising with customers and clients on site, maintaining good relationships
- Conducting thorough pre-start vehicle checks
- Reporting any vehicle defects
- Following company Safe Operating Procedures
- Taking care of your vehicle
- Completing daily checks and paperwork
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- LGV Cat C License (Class 2)
- Current DCPC Card
- Good geographical knowledge
- Tachograph/ digital smart card operation
