Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Air Conditioning Installer with more than 3 years of hands-on experience to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and balancing residential and/or light commercial air conditioning and ventilation systems.
Because you are past the entry-level stage, you will be expected to work independently, troubleshoot installation challenges on-site, and occasionally lead or mentor junior apprentices. Key Responsibilities
- System Installation: Install split systems, multi-splits, VRF/VRV units, ducted systems, and package units in compliance with manufacturer specifications and local building codes.
- Blueprint & Schema Reading: Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics to accurately layout and place equipment, ductwork, and refrigerant lines.
- Piping & Wiring: Layout, cut, thread, and braze copper refrigerant lines. Run electrical wiring, control wiring, and establish proper drainage systems.
- Commissioning: Evacuate systems (pull a vacuum), perform leak tests using nitrogen, charge systems with correct refrigerant levels, and fully test operations to ensure optimal performance.
- Quality Control & Safety: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations, EPA guidelines regarding refrigerant handling, and company safety protocols. Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, explaining system operations, answering questions, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction before leaving the site.
- Leadership/Mentorship: Assist in supervising and training entry-level installers or apprentices assigned to your jobs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of proven experience specifically in HVAC/AC installation (residential or commercial).
- Certifications (Required): * EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) for handling refrigerants.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (to drive company installation vehicles).
- Certifications (Preferred but not required): NATE Certification, OSHA 10-Hour, or relevant state HVAC Journeyman license.
- Technical Skills: * Proficiency in brazing, soldering, and using manifold gauges, vacuum pumps, and leak detectors.
- Strong understanding of airflow physics, duct design, and low-voltage electrical systems.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces), climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay: £24,420.00-£48,836.05 per year
