Scott Vevers Ltd is a growing Chartered Accountancy and Registered Audit practice based in Bridport, Dorset. We are a friendly team of 12 people providing accounts, tax, audit and business advisory services to a wide range of clients across Dorset and Somerset.

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Accounts Assistant / Trainee Accountant to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your accountancy career within a supportive environment, gaining experience across accounts, bookkeeping, VAT, tax and audit work.
We welcome applications from candidates who are studying AAT, recently qualified AAT, or looking to continue their professional development within accountancy practice.
Responsibilities and salary will be tailored to your experience and study level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts production
- Bookkeeping
- VAT returns
- Working closely with managers and senior team members
- Liaising directly with clients
Depending on your experience, training and career aspirations, you may also have the opportunity to gain experience in:
- Personal Tax calculations
- Corporation Tax calculations
- Payroll
- Audit assignments
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as their experience and qualifications develop.
Requirements:
- Ideally some experience working within a UK accountancy practice
- Experience of accounting software packages such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Working hours: Mon - Fri, 8.30 am - 5:00 pm.
Full-time and part-time applications will be considered.
Salary:
£25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, qualifications and study level.
