We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused administrator to join our Housing Needs team. As a Choice Based Lettings Administrator, you’ll play a key role in delivering a fair, efficient and accessible allocations service, helping residents navigate housing options during what can often be a challenging time.
This is a varied and fast-paced role where you’ll work with a wide range of customers, partners and internal teams to ensure applications are processed accurately and support is provided in a clear and compassionate way.

What you’ll be doing:

Supporting the delivery of an effective Choice Based Lettings and Housing Allocations service
- Providing advice to customers on housing options, including the housing register, Home choice, low-cost home ownership and mutual exchange schemes
- Managing enquiries via phone, email and face-to-face, ensuring excellent customer service at all times
- Processing applications, verifying information and maintaining accurate case records across multiple systems
- Assisting customers who may need additional support to access the lettings scheme, ensuring equality of access
- Liaising with internal departments and external agencies to gather and share information
- Supporting administrative processes such as re-registrations, eligibility checks and maintaining statistics/reporting data
- Contributing to fraud awareness and ensuring compliance with policies and legislation

We’re looking for someone who has:

Experience working in a busy, customer-focused administrative or office environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain information clearly
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Good IT skills, including experience of databases, spreadsheets and general office systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confidence dealing with challenging or vulnerable customers in a calm and supportive way
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and with external partners
