We are looking to grow our Group Exercise programme within the local community at Tadcaster Leisure Centre. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivating instructors who can encourage and inspire participants through fun, energetic, and inclusive Zumba classes.
You will deliver high-quality, engaging sessions tailored to suit both newcomers and long-time attendees, creating a welcoming environment where individuals of all abilities can enjoy themselves, build confidence, and stay active

Several sites have already moved to “Active North Yorkshire”, and our team’s focus is to help provide support in sport and well-being excellence to our local communities. Currently operating 16 Leisure and Wellbeing facilities, increasing to 22 in 2027 when the former Ryedale and Scarborough council areas join.

What You Can Bring:
The most important quality you can bring is passion and drive to help us deliver our fantastic group exercise programme to our wide range of customers. You need the ability to work effectively as part of a team and a good understanding of customer care. However, you would also need to show you;
- Hold the relevant fitness qualification (or be able to achieve it prior to employment) to ensure safe and effective practice and undertake ongoing CPD training in line with qualification standards and organisational protocols.
- Be able to give clear, accurate, and assertive instructions verbally and through the correct use of signals to customers and other members of the team.
Depending on which group exercise you are interested in leading, you can also bring:
- The ability to plan classes, tailored to clients’ needs
- Review and consistently improve your sessions, and adapt if required
- Knowledge of lifestyle management and the ability to encourage healthy habits in others
- Understand the benefits of physical activity to health and wellbeing- and be able to promote!
An Enhanced DBS is required should you wish to lead a junior group fitness activity, the cost of which will be covered by North Yorkshire Council.
