Vacancy- Construction Project Manager

Islwyn Pugh Construction Ltd is a specialist fitout construction company with a solution-focused approach to our clients, over a wide range of commercial & retail sectors. We have exciting career opportunities available for a Construction Project Manager.

About the role:

This is a long- term employment career opportunity, working directly for a construction company that are accredited and have long term work commitments. Our clients are some of the UK’s largest blue-chip retail and commercial suppliers, with projected programmes into the future.

We are looking to fully train and provide future development to a candidate with Project Management experience, who is self-motivated and interested in a long- term career in Construction. The candidate must be available to work nationwide.

About You

As part of our continued expansion, we are looking to appoint a competent and an experienced Project Manager to control several projects at one time from inception to occupation. You should be able to work independently with confidence and decisiveness. Candidates should be Self-motivated, proactive with a positive can-do attitude. You should have an eagerness to use your own initiative and ensure work is delivered on time with a quality finish.

A good understanding of Microsoft Project programming software and all other standard Office software is required. Auto- cad experience is also beneficial. Many projects involve work within, or in the vicinity of, live environments so similar experience is essential. A higher-than-average level of multi-disciplined trade knowledge is also a necessity. A working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts would be preferred.

The position is head office based, but the ability to travel and undertake site visits is essential.

Key duties will include, but not limited to;

· Take ownership of multiple projects, leading delivery teams to manage risk ensuring work is completed safely, on time and within budget.

· Oversee site-based Site Manager and deal with day-to-day issues as they arise

· Co-ordination and monitoring of subcontractors and suppliers

· Compile and update CPHSP in conjunction with H&S Advisor

· Review and approval of subcontract RAMS

· Regular site visits to check on progress and quality of work

· Development of tender programmes to Construction Phase level

· Review and updates of programme progress and delays

· Reviewing design information and compiling / tracking of RFI’s

· Assessing design details and potential issues and pro-actively seeking guidance or proposals to ensure problems are overcome in a swift and agreeable manner

· Participate in weekly reviews of progress, budget, resources, and programme

· Compiling of Contractor’s Reports and attendance at Site Progress Meetings

You will require the following;

· SMSTS

· First Aid

· Asbestos Awareness

· A full UK driving licence

To be successful in this role you must be able to prove eligibility to work in the UK
