The Role:
As Design Manager, you’ll oversee the work of a team of experienced CAD designers on new and existing projects and collaborate closely with the Production team and Project Managers to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Lead, manage, and develop a team of experienced designers in a fast-paced environment.
✔ Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and support to ensure the team delivers high-quality, creative, and technically sound designs.
✔ Oversee and review designs to ensure all safety, fabrication, and construction requirements are met.
✔ Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
✔ Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are optimised for manufacturing efficiency and installation.
✔ Attend meetings as and when required with customers, suppliers, and other departments to align design solutions with project requirements.
✔ Collaborate across departments to drive cost-effective and efficient design for manufacture and performance.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Proven experience managing a design team in a manufacturing or construction-related industry.
- Proficient in CAD drawing software such as SolidWorks.
Desirable:
- Fabrication experience, particularly with steelwork/metal components (e.g., balconies, railings).
- Experience managing third-party contractors and support services.
- Knowledge of performance management techniques to support team growth and development.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
