One YMCA is looking for a compassionate, organised, and proactive Hostel Support & Administration Assistant to join our Supported Housing team. Based within a 40-bed temporary accommodation hostel, you will support residents with a range of complex needs while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the service.

Key Responsibilities
YMCA is looking for a compassionate, organised, and proactive Hostel Support & Administration Assistant to join our Supported Housing team. Based within a 40-bed temporary accommodation hostel, you will support residents with a range of complex needs while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the service.

Key Responsibilities

Provide a welcoming and professional front-of-house service.
Carry out resident welfare checks and offer practical support.
Assist residents with correspondence, benefit applications, and accessing services.
Provide administrative support, maintain accurate records, and update case notes.
Welcome and coordinate visiting professionals, agencies, and contractors.
Help maintain a safe, secure, and supportive hostel environment.
Work closely with the Complex Needs Worker and wider team to support positive outcomes for residents.

About You

Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A caring and professional approach to supporting vulnerable people.
Strong administration and IT skills.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
An understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and professional boundaries.

This is a Part Time role.
Hours per week: 32
Working Pattern: 12hrs shift on Sat & Sun and 8hrs shift Monday (alternating 8am-4pm and 12pm-8pm for Monday shift

One YMCA and its subsidiaries, the Early Childhood Partnership (ECP) and Signpost are on an exciting journey to double our impact by 2025. Provision of over 700 units of accommodation for homeless people
Move on accommodation for individuals moving onto independent living
Housing and practical/emotional support for young asylum seekers
Community HUBs hosting a range of activities and meeting space hire
Childcare provision in Hertfordshire
Family support through a network of children’s and family centres covering Hertfordshire and Bedford
Therapeutic and non-therapeutic support for male and female victims of domestic abuse and their children
Independent sexual violence services across Bedfordshire, Luton and Hertfordshire
Domestic abuse perpetrator reform programmes across Bedfordshire
Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 11-19 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund
