Business Development Assistant
Are you commercially driven, organised, and confident engaging with customers? We are looking for a Business Development Assistant to support our sales pipeline, strengthen customer engagement, and drive new business opportunities.
This is a fast-paced, target-focused role where you will play a key part in generating and qualifying leads, building relationships, and supporting the wider commercial team to convert opportunities into revenue.
The Role
As a Business Development Assistant, you will be responsible for identifying and engaging prospective customers, managing inbound and outbound activity, and ensuring our sales pipeline remains active and high quality.
You will act as a key link between potential customers and the business, ensuring all interactions are professional, timely, and aligned to our commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls to prospective and existing customers, including confident and effective cold calling
- Identify, source, and qualify high-quality leads aligned to business capability and strategy
- Manage and maintain accurate data within the CRM system, ensuring all activity is logged and up to date
- Schedule and coordinate qualified appointments for the sales team
- Respond to and qualify inbound enquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Send relevant company and technical information to prospective customers
- Manage your own workload, diary, and pipeline activity to meet weekly targets
- Work closely with Directors and the commercial team to continuously improve lead quality and conversion
- Support the development of a structured and disciplined sales pipeline

- Quick thinking with the ability to adapt your approach based on the customer
- A team player who can also work independently
Experience:
- Previous experience in a sales, business development, or customer-facing role is preferred (2+ years desirable)
Hours of Work
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
This is an office-based role and requires full-time presence on site.
