We have grown rapidly and we are looking to appoint an experienced L2 NOC Engineer to join our Managed Services team as a second-line escalation point.
What Will You Be Doing?
You will work as part of the Optec Network Operations Centre, acting as an escalation point for tickets raised by our L1 engineers. ● Carry out project work as required, alongside day-to-day operational support
● Provide excellent ongoing support to our customers, communicating clearly during incidents
● Escalate to L3 engineers where a ticket requires escalated support
● Contribute to ticket quality: clear resolution notes, accurate categorisation, and proper handover where a ticket spans a shift change
● Provide mentoring and training for junior engineers
● Meaningfully contribute to the MST knowledge base
Essential
● Proven network engineering or network support experience at a 2nd line level
● Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to prioritise across multiple concurrent tickets
● Firewall configuration experience
● LAN / WAN / WiFi experience
● Excellent customer service skills, including confident communication during live incidents
● A desire to learn and progress toward L3 as a network and security professional
Nice to Have
● Experience of public cloud administration
● Automation experience
● Prior experience working within a tiered NOC
Beneficial Qualifications
