General Teaching Assistant

Location: Rhondda Cynon Taff
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP

Elementa is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive secondary school school in Rhondda Cynon Taff for a General Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play an important role in supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work alongside teachers to provide classroom support, helping to create an engaging, inclusive and positive learning environment. You will support pupils across a range of abilities through whole-class, small group and one-to-one activities, encouraging confidence, independence and a love of learning.

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with secondary-aged children in a school or similar setting
Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
Is patient, enthusiastic and able to motivate young learners
Can support pupils with a range of learning needs
Works well as part of a team while using their own initiative
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Essential Requirements:

Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), or willing to register before starting
Enhanced DBS Certificate, or willingness to apply for one
Right to work in the UK
Recent experience working in UK schools

An Enhanced DBS Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £64.20 unless you are subscribed to the DBS Update Service)
Successful completion of a 12-week (60 paid day) employment trial period
