Full-Time Video Editor & Office Assistant
Scots Media Limited / Scots Plastic
Location: Aberdeen, on-site
Hours: Full-time, weekdays
Pay: Dependent on experience
Start date: As soon as possible
Scots Media Limited is looking for a full-time Video Editor & Office Assistant to help with the growth of our media channels and online business.
The main part of the role will involve editing video content for our online channels, including long-form videos, short-form clips, behind-the-scenes content, product videos, social media clips, and promotional content.
The role will also include helping with the practical side of the business, including general office tasks, packaging customer orders, organising stock, assisting with filming, preparing products, and supporting day-to-day operations.
This is a varied role inside a growing media and e-commerce business. It would suit someone who enjoys content creation but is also practical, reliable, organised, and happy to help wherever needed.
Main Responsibilities
You will help with:
- Editing long-form video content
- Editing short-form social media clips
- Cutting raw footage into clear, entertaining videos
- Improving pacing, structure, humour, retention, and overall watchability
- Adding music, sound effects, captions, graphics, zooms, and basic visual polish
- Organising footage, project files, and content folders
- Helping prepare videos and clips for publishing
- Assisting with thumbnails, titles, descriptions, and content ideas where needed
- Assisting with filming, studio setup, B-roll, and behind-the-scenes content
- Helping package and prepare customer orders when required
- Checking products before dispatch
- Organising stock, products, supplies, and work areas
- Helping keep the office/workshop clean, tidy, and efficient
- Assisting with general office admin and day-to-day business tasks
What We’re Looking For
The ideal person will be:
- Interested in video editing, content creation, media, and online business
- Able to edit videos to a good basic standard
- Reliable, punctual, and organised
- Good with computers and file organisation
- Comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions
- Practical and willing to help with different tasks
- Detail-focused and able to follow instructions properly
- Fast enough to work to deadlines
- Happy to work on-site as part of a small team
- Willing to learn and improve quickly
You do not need to be a perfect editor from day one, but you must already have some editing ability and be willing to improve. Training will be provided, but reliability, speed, organisation, and attention to detail matter.
Useful Skills
Useful but not essential:
- Experience with DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, or similar
- Experience editing long-form videos, short-form clips, adverts, reels, or social media content
- Experience with thumbnails, titles, captions, product videos, or promotional content
- Experience with Shopify, postage systems, spreadsheets, or admin tools
- Experience with packaging, warehouse, stock, retail, or office work
- Basic photography, filming, camera, or lighting experience
- Interest in LEGO, gaming, history, e-commerce, media, or content creation
Important
This is mainly a video editing and content role, but it is not a pure editing job where you only sit editing all day.
We are a small, growing business, so everyone needs to be useful. Some days may involve mostly editing. Other days may involve filming, packaging orders, organising stock, helping with products, office admin, or general business support.
If you only want to edit videos and refuse to help with anything else, this is probably not the right role. If you want a varied role where you can edit videos, learn content production, and be part of a growing media and e-commerce business, this could be a very good opportunity.
