Your position
In your new position as Finance Manager within Semco Maritime UK, you will be a key member of the UK leadership team, responsible for leading the finance function and supporting the continued growth and success of our UK operations.
Working closely with operational managers and business leaders, you will provide commercial insight, financial control, and strategic support across the business. This is an opportunity to influence decision-making, develop a high-performing finance team, and contribute directly to projects supporting the global energy sector.
Your place of work will be our office in Westhill, Aberdeenshire. This is a full-time position offering a flexible hybrid working model.
Our Finance team plays an essential role in helping the business make informed decisions and deliver successful outcomes for our customers. This role offers a real opportunity to influence strategy while developing people and processes in a collaborative environment.
Your tasks & responsibilities
As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing financial leadership, ensuring robust financial controls, and supporting business performance across Semco Maritime's UK operations.
Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Leading, developing and supporting the Finance team while ensuring appropriate resource planning.
- Providing financial business partnering to management teams and supporting strategic decision-making.
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and month-end activities.
- Overseeing project financial performance, including work-in-progress monitoring, cost control, invoicing and order backlog reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements, including VAT, payroll governance and external reporting obligations.
Your profile & qualifications
We are looking for a finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills. You enjoy working collaboratively across a business, supporting people development, and using financial insight to help achieve organisational goals.
To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:
- A professional accounting qualification (CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience leading finance activities within a commercial or project-based environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial controls.
- Experience partnering with operational and senior leadership teams to support business performance.
- Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
