Kids Guitar Tutor (Ages 9–16)
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Guitar Tutor to deliver fun and engaging group guitar lessons for children and young people aged 9–16.
Hours per week: 2
Session Times (Saturday Mornings):
- Session 1: Ages 9–11 | 10:00am – 11:00am
- Session 2: Ages 12–16 | 11:00am – 12:00pm
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children and young people, helping them develop musical skills, confidence, and a love of learning through guitar.
Requirements
Tutors will be expected to:
- Be registered as self-employed with HMRC, or be willing to register (the process is straightforward).
- Hold appropriate Public Liability Insurance.
- Obtain PVG Scheme membership for working with children.
Please note that PVG costs are the responsibility of the tutor:
- New PVG Scheme membership: £59
- Existing PVG Scheme member application: £18
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging guitar lessons appropriate for different age groups and abilities
- Teach basic to intermediate guitar techniques, chords, rhythm, and simple songs
- Encourage participation, creativity, and confidence
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Support learners to progress at their own pace
About You:
- Experienced guitar player with the ability to teach beginners and developing learners
- Enjoy working with children and young people
- Friendly, patient, and confident leading small groups
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Experience in music tuition, education, youth work, or community activities is desirable but not essential.
