We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
This role will be within our Transmission & Renewables team - We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.
Building on our excellent relationships with our customers, M Group continues to expand our workbook to deliver Overhead Line projects to the highest standard across the UK. To meet these exciting opportunities, we are looking for an enthusiastic and competent Quality Advisor to work within our Overhead Lines business with our Energy Infrastructure Division.
This role will cover the SSEN Portfolio of projects with primary focus on overhead line projects for our clients with the main projects and base in Aberdeenshire, with other satellite projects in the Highlands (Beauly, Bingally, Fort Augustus) and Cambushinnie (near Gleneagles) so a driving licence and flexibility to travel and work away from home are essential requirements. The main project runs from Kintore to Hurlie in Aberdeenshire.

What will you be doing?
Reporting to the SHEQ Director, you will be responsible, along with other Quality Advisors within the Overhead Lines business, for contribution to the management and monitoring of our Integrated Management System (IMS) and associated procedures (with a focus on ISO 9001 compliance).
You will be involved in leading the quality aspects of the M Group’s SSEN portfolio of Overhead lines projects, providing a link between the various Project and Site Management Teams and other relevant departments including Design, Planning, Operations and SHEQ throughout all stages of project development, design, delivery and completion to ensure the quality requirements of M Group and its clients are met. You will act as a line manager role for any Quality Advisors that are added to the team as works ramps up.
You will assist in driving continuous improvement and positive cultures into operational activities and processes, particularly where these have an impact on quality.
Key accountabilities include proactively managing quality related issues both on site and at management system level including client liaison, as necessary, in line with the relevant M Group and client requirements. You will also undertake monitoring inspections and procedural audits as required as part of our internal auditing team, driving best practice as directed and ensuring a consistent approach across all projects with regard to quality.

Skills:
- Excellent organisational skills.

- Ability to converse with site staff of all grades and levels.
- Conversant with Microsoft Office and related software.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of overhead line and substation industry
- Knowledge of manufacturing and quality control processes
- Knowledge of document control processes
Experience:
- 10 years’ experience in this or a related industry.
- Previous experience in quality management systems or quality control
- Previous experience in project-based quality processes
Qualifications:
- ISO 9001 foundation or awareness
- ISO 9001 Internal QMS Auditor
Desirable if you also have ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or NEBOSH general/construction certificate.
Other requirements:
- Full driving licence – this role will require some travel to sites and overnight stays
- Office based in Westhill area - Aberdeen
