This part-time, temporary role (maternity cover) is ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, working collaboratively, and taking pride in delivering high-quality work. You’ll play an important role in supporting our group accounting teams and ensuring our finance processes run smoothly.
Working Pattern
The role is based on approximately 24 hours per week, and we’re happy to discuss working hours that suit you.
While the current pattern is Monday–Thursday (08:30–14:30), we’re open to alternative schedules. The only essential requirement is availability on Mondays to support payroll when needed.
What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Group Accountant, you’ll be involved in a wide range of finance activities, including:
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Processing invoices, payment runs, cash receipts, and credit notes
- Maintaining accurate financial records and completing reconciliations
- Resolving queries and ensuring correct ledger postings
- Supporting continuous improvement of finance processes
Inter-company Transactions
- Processing inter-company invoices and reconciling month-end balances
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Allocating cash transfers across companies accurately and on time
Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Completing monthly bank reconciliations
- Reconciling GRNI accruals across the group
- Reviewing and correcting general ledger postings alongside the Group Accountant
Additional Responsibilities
- Supporting weekly payroll processing when required
- Providing occasional reception cover, helping create a professional and welcoming environment
What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from individuals who bring a combination of experience, attention to detail, and a proactive approach. You’ll likely have:
- Around 3+ years’ experience in an accounting or finance role
- A relevant qualification (HND or degree in Accounting & Finance is desirable)
- Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP systems
- A good understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)
- Knowledge of payroll processes (experience with Sage is a bonus)
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A strong sense of integrity and confidentiality
- Confident communication and a collaborative approach
- A proactive mindset with the ability to spot and resolve issues
