Job Overview

Part-Time Administrative Assistant Gail Goodfellow, Solicitor Advocate Criminal Defence Solicitors, Aberdeen

We are a small but busy legal practice specialising in criminal law. We are looking to recruit a part-time Administrative Assistant, offering between 10 and 25 hours per week. The hours will be flexible, with working days to be discussed.

Candidates must have experience in Windows and basic typing skills. The role will include reception duties, audio typing, and general administrative tasks. Full training will be provided.

The hourly rate will be discussed at interview. Preferred start date - Monday 10th August with training available prior.

Responsibilities

Managing and maintaining case files and legal documentation with accuracy and confidentiality
Assisting with scheduling appointments, court dates, and client meetings
Responding to client enquiries via phone and email in a professional manner
Organising and prioritising incoming correspondence and ensuring timely follow-up
Preparing reports, summaries, and other administrative documents as required
Supporting the team with general administrative tasks such as filing and photocopying

Requirements

Administrative experience
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Outstanding customer service skills to handle client interactions courteously and professionally
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software programmes
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Flexibility to work part-time hours that suit both the organisation’s needs and personal circumstances

This role provides valuable exposure to criminal defence law practice while offering flexible working arrangements suitable for students or those seeking part-time employment. The position is paid in accordance with industry standards for administrative roles.

Pay: £1,000.00-£1,500.00 per month
