The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated individual to teach within our English team at Gower College Swansea. This role is a permanent, fractional (0.5) post based on the Gorseinon campus and involves delivery of the WJEC A level English curriculum. English is a very popular subject at Gower College Swansea so this is your opportunity to join a thriving department with a strong and supportive approach to teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities
-
To work with the team to deliver A level English courses ensuring excellence in teaching, learning and assessment across both AS and A2.

To plan, prepare and teach A Level English courses ensuring schemes of work and assessments are appropriate to the exam board specification.

To ensure teaching and learning strategies and teaching materials are planned to meet the varied needs of learners.

To work with the Curriculum Leader and Learning Area Manager to set targets and monitor performance in recruitment, attendance, retention, attainment and successful completion.

To keep up to date with curriculum developments, subject knowledge and innovations in teaching and learning.
About You
-
Possess a relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification.

Are able to demonstrate highly successful experience of teaching A level English and a passion for the subject.

A very confident communicator and committed individual who can engage and inspire learners of all abilities.

Excellent organisational skills and a team player.

The ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of learners.

The Full-Time Equivalent Salary for this post is £26,386 - £51,931 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience).
