The Governing Body of the Penrhyn-coch and Penllwyn Schools Federation is seeking a permanent After-School Club Play Assistant: an enthusiastic and caring individual to support our after-school provision. The role involves working 4 hours per week, in addition to casual supply work.
Purpose of the job:
Assist in organising the after-school provision at Penllwyn Community School on a day-to-day basis, providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4 and 11 in a safe and secure environment.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Providing after school provision:
- maintaining a safe and stimulating play environment and assisting with the development of opportunities that encourage children’s social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development through play
- be responsible to the club supervisor and the Headteacher
- ensure that the provision offers a safe and exciting play environment
- assist with the planning, preparation and provision of activities that meet the individual development needs of children
- work face to face with the children who are registered with the club
- to supervise tea time refreshments for the children
- follow Safeguarding guidelines and procedures in accordance with Ysgol Penrhyn-coch and Ysgol Penllwyn Federalism policies and procedures
- carry out any other duties that will be seen to improve the work of the After School Club
A play leader qualification and the ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh would be desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will need to complete a level 1 safeguarding qualification.
