About the role
The Governing Body of the Penrhyn-coch and Penllwyn Schools Federation is seeking a permanent After-School Club Play Assistant: an enthusiastic and caring individual to support our after-school provision. The role involves working 4 hours per week, in addition to casual supply work.
Purpose of the job:
Assist in organising the after-school provision at Penllwyn Community School on a day-to-day basis, providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4 and 11 in a safe and secure environment.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Providing after school provision:
maintaining a safe and stimulating play environment and assisting with the development of opportunities that encourage children’s social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development through play
be responsible to the club supervisor and the Headteacher
ensure that the provision offers a safe and exciting play environment
assist with the planning, preparation and provision of activities that meet the individual development needs of children
work face to face with the children who are registered with the club
to supervise tea time refreshments for the children
follow Safeguarding guidelines and procedures in accordance with Ysgol Penrhyn-coch and Ysgol Penllwyn Federalism policies and procedures
carry out any other duties that will be seen to improve the work of the After School Club
A playwork qualification and the ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh would be desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will need to complete a Group B safeguarding qualification.
