Delivery Driver / Warehouse Operative

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per year (depending on experience)

Location: Aberystwyth

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Application Deadline: 25 June 2026

Expected Start Date: As soon as possible

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Delivery Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our busy electrical wholesale branch. This is a varied role that combines customer deliveries with warehouse duties and trade counter support.

The successful candidate will be customer-focused, organised and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and attention to detail are essential, as priorities can change throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver goods safely and efficiently to customers within agreed timescales.
Complete up to 40 deliveries per day, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
Follow planned delivery routes accurately and communicate any delays or issues promptly.
Obtain and maintain accurate delivery records and POD documentation using handheld devices.
Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure company vehicles are clean, roadworthy and adequately fuelled.
Pick and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Assist with stock checks and general warehouse duties.
Support the trade counter and assist customers when required.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet the demands of a busy branch.
Adapt to changing priorities and assist in all aspects of the branch operation as required.
Maintain high standards of health and safety.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

Full UK Driving Licence.
Previous driving experience.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Basic computer literacy and confidence using handheld devices.
Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving products safely.

Desirable:

Previous experience within an electrical wholesaler, builders' merchant or similar trade environment.
Trade counter experience.
Forklift licence (although training may be provided for the right candidate).

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:30pm
Saturday: 8:00am – 11:00am (alternate Saturdays)
