Nightwatch Supervisor
We are seeking a reliable, observant, and proactive Nightwatch Supervisor to oversee overnight operations at Bibury Trout Farm. Working a 6:00 pm to 6:00 am shift pattern, you will play a vital role in maintaining the welfare of our fish stocks, ensuring site security, and preserving the high standards and appearance of our historic and picturesque site.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their surroundings, and can remain calm and effective when responding to issues during overnight hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor fish health and welfare throughout the shift, carrying out regular patrols to ensure habitats and environmental conditions are maintained to the highest standards.
- Oversee the security of the site during overnight hours, ensuring the safety of livestock, buildings, equipment, and visitors' facilities.
- Conduct routine patrols to identify and address any potential security, safety, or maintenance concerns.
- Assist with the upkeep and presentation of the site, including cleaning barbecue areas, litter picking, and maintaining the cleanliness of visitor facilities.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, emergencies, or welfare concerns.
- Record and report any observations, incidents, maintenance issues, or fish welfare concerns, providing a comprehensive handover to the day team.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Support the smooth running of the farm by undertaking additional duties as required during quieter periods.
Skills and Experience
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
- A responsible and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in challenging situations.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Flexibility and commitment to working overnight shifts on a consistent basis.
Desirable
- Previous experience in security, farming, fisheries, animal welfare, or a similar environment.
- Basic maintenance or groundskeeping experience.
- First Aid qualification.
Working Pattern
This role is based at Bibury Trout Farm and operates on a 7-days-on, 7-days-off rota, working Monday to Sunday from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.
For the right candidate, there may be opportunities to undertake additional daytime work during their week off, should they wish to do so.

Pay: £26,500.00-£28,500.00 per year
