Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader specialising in garden maintenance to oversee and coordinate landscape projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in horticulture and gardening, with excellent leadership skills to guide a team of groundskeepers and horticultural staff. This role involves managing daily operations, ensuring high standards of landscape upkeep, and implementing sustainable gardening practices. The position offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team in creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces while fostering a collaborative work environment.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate daily garden maintenance activities, including planting, pruning, mowing,
Operate and maintain various hand tools, power tools, safely and efficiently.
Lead the team in executing landscape maintenance plans aligned with client specifications and environmental standards.
Monitor the quality of work performed by team members, providing guidance and training as necessary.
Ensure all equipment is used responsibly, maintained properly, and stored securely after use.
Promote health and safety protocols within the team to prevent accidents or injuries on site.
Liaise with the manager to discuss project progress or specific landscape requirements.

Requirements

Proven experience in gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance roles.
Demonstrable knowledge of growing techniques, plant care, and sustainable gardening practices.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems relevant to garden maintenance.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to organise tasks effectively and motivate a team.
Good understanding of landscape design principles and horticultural standards.
Previous experience leading or supervising a team is preferred.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in executing grounds maintenance
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
Relevant certifications or qualifications in horticulture or landscape management are advantageous but not essential. This role offers an engaging environment for passionate gardening professionals eager to lead impactful projects while developing their leadership capabilities within a dynamic team setting.
