Job Summary

We are looking for a trusted and determined quantity surveyor to help us with the worlds first Village for athletes and military on the edge of York. Our US investors are backing us with 40 villages over the next 10 years in the UK, not including three in every US state for this project…

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control, from initial estimates to final account settlement. This role requires a strong understanding of construction costs, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget. The Quantity Surveyor will play a vital role in ensuring financial efficiency and project success.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects at various stages.
Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction process, ensuring adherence to budgets.
Conduct detailed cost analysis and value engineering to optimise expenditure without compromising quality.
Manage procurement processes, including tendering, contract negotiations, and supplier selection.
Administer contractual agreements and ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to communicate cost-related issues effectively.
Prepare financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and variation claims for ongoing projects.
Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify costs against work completed.
Assist in risk management by identifying potential financial risks early in the project lifecycle.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Strong expertise in cost control, budgeting, and financial management of projects.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent tools.
Good understanding of construction contracts, legal frameworks, and health & safety regulations.
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders.
A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics is preferred.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team under tight deadlines. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute significantly to our projects' financial success while advancing their career within a dynamic organisation.

Pay: £33,299.75-£73,992.08 per year
