Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a <PERSON>. This role involves working with various manufacturing processes, primarily focusing on mechanical assembly and fabrication. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical principles, proficiency with hand and power tools, and experience in plastics injection moulding. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills within a dynamic environment that values precision, safety, and innovation.

Duties

Operate and maintain machinery related to plastics injection moulding, milling, and grinding processes.
Use CAD software such as SolidWorks to interpret technical drawings and assist in designing components.
Perform welding tasks to assemble metal parts accurately and securely.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment for assembly, fitting, and finishing tasks.
Conduct routine inspections of parts and assemblies to ensure quality standards are met.
Assist with the setup and calibration of machinery to ensure optimal operation.
Apply basic maths skills for measurements, tolerances, and calculations necessary for manufacturing tasks.
Support the maintenance of equipment and troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise.
Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

Proven experience in grinding, milling, welding, or assembly work within a manufacturing setting.
Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks or similar programmes.
Knowledge of plastics injection moulding processes is highly desirable.
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment used in manufacturing environments.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to component fabrication.
Experience working with plastics or metal components is advantageous.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A recognised qualification in mechanical engineering or related field is preferred but not essential.
