Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team as a Huse Cpre. This role involves maintaining and caring for horticultural landscapes, ensuring the proper functioning of irrigation systems, and performing equipment repairs. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of horticulture, mechanical maintenance, and animal care, contributing to the overall health and aesthetics of our outdoor environments. This position offers an excellent opportunity for those passionate about outdoor work, plant care, and equipment maintenance to develop their skills within a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

Maintain and operate irrigation systems to ensure optimal watering schedules and system efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on horticultural equipment using hand tools, power tools, and specialised machinery.
Conduct general landscape upkeep including planting, pruning, fertilising, and pest control.
Assist with the repair and maintenance of mechanical systems related to irrigation and landscape equipment.
Utilise basic maths skills for measuring soil amendments, water quantities, and equipment calibration.
Handle heavy lifting tasks related to soil, plants, or equipment moving as required.
Care for animals on-site such as livestock or pets, ensuring their health and safety are maintained.
Apply horticultural knowledge to support plant health through fertilisation, pest management, and soil conditioning.
Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with irrigation or landscape machinery efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas to promote safety and efficiency.

Requirements

Prior experience or knowledge in horticulture or related fields is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
Basic understanding of irrigation systems and equipment repair processes.
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised maintenance equipment safely.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor repairs on machinery or irrigation components.
Good physical fitness with the ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly.
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to landscape work.
Experience in animal care is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with attention to safety protocols.
Organised with good attention to detail; able to follow instructions accurately.
