Full job description

Job Overview

We are currently looking for an experienced Spray Painter to join our production team at Eden Fabrications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing products for surface finishing and applying coatings in line with individual project specifications. A strong knowledge of paint spraying techniques and excellent attention to detail are essential to ensure high-quality, durable finishes that meet required thickness, colour and finish standards.

Previous experience applying intumescent paint and fire protection coatings would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

Follow work instructions for each individual project to ensure specification compliance
Prepare steel and other surfaces prior to painting, including removing rust and loose materials using appropriate equipment
Fill, sand and smooth surfaces where required
Mask areas not requiring paint using tape and coverings where necessary
Select, mix and prepare required paints and coatings in line with specifications
Select and use the correct spray equipment and nozzles to achieve the required finish
Apply coatings using industry-standard spraying techniques
Apply coatings to the required thickness and project specification
Clean and maintain spray guns, nozzles and other spraying equipment
Inspect finished coatings to ensure the required quality and finish has been achieved, in line with BS EN 1090
Follow all relevant health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times

Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience in an industrial or similar spray painting role
Good knowledge of surface preparation, paint mixing and spray application techniques
Experience with intumescent paint / fire protection coatings is highly desirable
Experience spraying structural steel or fabricated steelwork would be advantageous
Ability to work to specified coating thicknesses and quality standards
Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing a high-quality finish
