About The Role

Civil / Structural Senior Designer

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Civil / Structural Senior Designer to join the team in Grangemouth.

This role will involve supporting civil and structural engineering and design activities, developing detailed design deliverables, and working collaboratively with Principal/Lead Engineers, project teams and clients to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

Key Deliverables:

To develop and prepare detailed civil and structural design documentation, including layouts, modelling, general arrangement (GA) and detail drawings.
To support Principal / Lead Engineers in reviewing and checking design deliverables.
To participate in site visits and surveys to gather information required for design development.
To engage with cross-disciplinary teams and clients to ensure project milestones are achieved efficiently and safely.
To generate accurate design deliverables in line with project requirements and agreed schedules.
To uphold the highest standards of quality and safety in accordance with relevant industry regulations, standards and client requirements.
To contribute to identifying and delivering work process improvements within the design team.
To maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in civil and structural engineering.
To collaborate effectively with project teams to achieve project objectives.
To manage multiple tasks and work independently while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Key Requirements / Qualifications:

HND in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related discipline, and/or a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.
Relevant experience using civil and structural design software.
Familiarity with E3D and AutoCAD, or similar design software.
Good knowledge of civil and structural design principles.
Understanding of materials and construction processes used in civil and structural engineering.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
A self-starter who can also thrive in a team environment.
A commitment to ethical and professional standards.
Genuine enthusiasm for engineering and continuous personal development.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
