Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide support to individuals in their homes This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence for clients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. Prior experience in care homes or home care settings is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. Working on a rota basis of 2 shifts on 4 off, on a flexible basis.

Duties

Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
Help with medication management and administering prescribed treatments as directed
Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary
Maintain accurate care plans and document any changes in the client's condition
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
Support clients in engaging with daily activities and social interactions
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required
Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff

Qualifications

Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely
Experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for suitable candidates
Good command of English, both spoken and written
Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and colleagues
Compassionate attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
