Job description:
6-month contract with a view to permanent
The role
This is not a standard warehouse role.
At STORM, our Technical Preparation Team (TPT) is the engine behind every event we deliver. From high-end corporate shows in London to complex multi-site productions, this team makes sure every piece of equipment leaves the building ready to perform.
We are looking for a TPT Technician to join the team at STORM Works. You will be working hands-on with professional lighting, audio, video and scenic equipment, preparing it to the highest standard for live events.
If you are organised, practical, and take pride in doing things properly, this is a strong entry point into the live events industry.
What you’ll be doing
You will be part of the team responsible for preparing, managing and maintaining equipment to a show-ready standard.
This includes:
Inventory and control
You will scan equipment in and out, track assets, and help maintain accurate stock records. Attention to detail matters here. If it’s not right, it causes problems on site.
Technical preparation
You will assist in picking, prepping and packing equipment for shows. Everything that leaves the building should be clean, tested, labelled and ready to go straight into a live environment.
Goods in and out
You will load and unload vans and trucks, and take ownership of de-prepping equipment when it returns. This is where quality control happens.
Warehouse standards
You will help maintain a clean, organised, professional warehouse. The easier it is to find and access equipment, the better we perform as a business.
Team communication
You will work closely with technicians, project managers and logistics. You’ll flag issues early, whether that’s missing kit, damage, or inconsistencies.
Safety and responsibility
You will follow safe working practices and take responsibility for the environment around you.
What we’re looking for
We are not just looking for experience, we are looking for attitude.
You’ll likely be someone who:
- Takes pride in doing things properly, not just quickly
- Is organised and pays attention to detail
- Is practical and happy working hands-on
- Communicates clearly and takes ownership
- Wants to learn and progress within the events industry
Experience in AV, events, or warehouse environments is useful, but not essential. We will train the right person.
What you’ll get
- A clear pathway into the live events industry
- Hands-on experience with professional AV equipment
- Training from an experienced technical team
- Exposure to real shows and how they are delivered
- Opportunity to move into a permanent role and progress within STORM
Working hours
40 hours per week, plus:
- Early and late shifts
- Occasional weekends
- Overtime paid
20 days holiday (pro rata)
