Full job description

Job Purpose:

Sovereign Turf Ltd is a turf farming and horticultural business established in 1988.

The role is offered on a Full Time, Permanent basis, with the successful applicant being based at the head office in Melton, Woodbridge Suffolk (no hybrid working).

Working Hours will be Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:00, with a half hour lunch break.

They will be a crucial member of an extremely busy sales team and will play a key role in ensuring the sales office and its procedures and functions are followed in line with business expectations.

Key Responsibilities will be:

Answering customer enquiries and providing product information and quotations over the phone, by email and face to face
Following the Sales Ordering Processes, including creating sales orders and raising / emailing invoices
Provide after sales support for customers
Take payments over the phone via a virtual terminal
Look up/find, email and call new customers in line with business growth agendas
Raise Purchase Orders for Contracted Services
Support the haulage planner to organise pallet network bookings
Any other ad hoc duties arising from the sales office i.e. Stocktake, filing etc

Experience:

Sales background preferred (experience in telephone sales would be beneficial)
Experience of working within a similar role and environment is beneficial however full training will be given
Attention to detail is essential
A good understanding of Xero is advantageous; however, training will be provided.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word & Teams) along with Google sheets and WhatsApp.
Strong communication skills
Ability to interpret numbers
Ability to adapt to different scenarios

To meet peak seasonal demands, the successful candidate will be able to work under pressure while prioritising tasks. They will be someone who enjoys working as part of a team as well as independently and is able to positively contribute to the wider business.
