Full job description

Scrapyard Worker / Vehicle Dismantler

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Scrapyard Worker to join our busy vehicle recycling and dismantling operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe dismantling and depollution of end-of-life vehicles while maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate forklifts safely and efficiently within the scrapyard.
Remove wheels and tyres from vehicles using appropriate tools and equipment.
Strip tyres from wheels where required.
Carry out vehicle depollution processes, including the safe removal and disposal of:
Engine oil
Fuel
Coolant
Brake fluid
Other vehicle fluids
Remove batteries and other hazardous components from vehicles.
Dismantle vehicles in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations.
Sort and separate recyclable materials and vehicle parts.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
Assist with general yard duties as required.

Requirements:

Previous experience working in a scrapyard, vehicle dismantling facility, or similar environment preferred.
Forklift experience (licence preferred but not essential depending on training requirements).
Knowledge of vehicle depollution procedures.
Ability to remove wheels, tyres, batteries, and vehicle fluids safely.
Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Self-motivated and willing to learn.
Able to work efficiently in a busy scrapyard environment.
Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
