Full job description

The Oxford Centre for Emerging Minds Research is a newly funded research centre that has been established to conduct world class research that contributes to a world where differences between children and young people are understood and accepted, strengths are capitalised on, and mental health difficulties are prevented or addressed early in life.

This is a new post, with opportunities to creatively communicate through a variety of communications and engagement channels. The post-holder will provide communications and events support for the new centre, helping to promote its work to a wide range of stakeholders. They will produce outputs, advise colleagues across the centre, and work with suppliers and partners as appropriate. The role will involve creating content including press releases, newsletters, blogs and videos, managing the website and managing the delivery of OCEMR events.

The post is available on a flexible hybrid basis. The minimum on-site time is 3 days/week for a full-time post.

About the Role

The post is funded till 30 September 2030 and is based in the Department of Experimental Psychology based at the Life and Mind Building.

You will deliver the OCEMR communications strategy, including planning and scheduling content, creating and uploading content to the website and social media platforms. You will contribute to the design of new websites, digital platforms, promotional materials such as banners, flyers, merchandise and coordinating with designers, suppliers, departmental communications teams, and OCEMR team members. You will work proactively to identify, plan and coordinate press work for media-relevant activities in the centre, including drafting press releases and responding to enquiries, in liaison with relevant department colleagues and the University’s Public Affairs Directorate as applicable. You will lead on organising and managing online or hybrid events

About You

You will have experience of producing communication outputs using standard and innovative digital design and communications tools. You will have demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining public-facing digital platforms such as websites and social media channels for impact and engagement. You will have excellent written skills, evidenced in the production of public-facing materials and excellent communication and interpersonal skills to enable good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
