Function

Mechanical Workshop CNC Machinist Miller

Purpose of the Role

To Program, Set & Operate the CNC Mazak controlled 3 and 5 axis milling machines within the Motion Applied Mechanical Workshop

Principal Accountabilities

To set & operate machinery to produce high quality parts.
Manage time & workload effectively.
Inspect own work to a high standard.
Review and maintain ‘industry best practice’ with other team members.
Set a good example and support other members with problem solving.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Proven record in CNC machine operation and programming using online machine and offline CAM methods.
Knowledge of Mazatrol controls (in house training supported on machines) .
Knowledge of Solid Edge / Fusion 360 software will be an advantage.
Comprehensive understanding of industry standards and regulations to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safely within the BSI 9001 / 14001 Certification.
Has developed proficiency in a range of relevant processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
Good time management.
Great attention to detail to maintain or exceed high levels of production standards and efficiency.
Ability to fully contribute to the process of continuous improvement.
Good understanding of working in similar high technology environment.
Ability to understand and read engineering drawings, / models.
Highly competent in using a wide range of measuring equipment.
Apprenticeship or time served background preferred.
