Job Title: Singing Teacher (Weekend/Sunday School)
Location: Ipswich
Schedule: Sundays, [9:00 AM – 6:30 PM]
We will be looking for you to start regularly from September, however we will require you before then to hold auditions and run sessions at our Summer School.
Role Overview
We are looking for multiple Performing Arts Teachers to join the newest Performing Arts School in Ipswich where we will be taking the Musical Theatre training in the area up a level.
We are hiring Singing, Acting and Dance teachers that will be responsible for delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons in drama, dance, and/or music to students attending weekend school. The role focuses on building confidence, creativity, teamwork, and performance skills in a fun, supportive environment.
SINGING TEACHERS: Ensemble Singing, Acting through Song, also 1-1 teaching
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured performing arts lessons (drama, dance, musical theatre, or a combination)
- Adapt teaching methods to suit different age groups and abilities
- Prepare students for showcases, recitals, or end-of-term performances
- Create a positive, inclusive, and energetic classroom atmosphere
- Encourage student participation, confidence, and self-expression
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in a limited-time weekly setting
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support Academy events and productions
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students at all times
- Communicate progress and feedback to parents and Academy leadership when required.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in the Industry are highly desirable
- Experience teaching performing arts to children or young people
- Background in drama, dance, music, or musical theatre
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students in a short weekly timeframe
- Creative, enthusiastic, and reliable
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., degree, diploma, or certifications in performing arts or education) – desirable
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable Attributes
- Experience working in weekend, supplementary, or community schools
- Ability to choreograph, direct, or produce large-scale performances
- First aid training (optional but beneficial)
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: £15.00-£28.00 per hour
