At RNR Group, we deliver Telecoms and Traffic Management solutions across the UK, supporting major fibre and infrastructure projects. Based in Cannock, West Midlands, we pride ourselves on having experienced field teams, high standards of safety, and a strong reputation for delivering quality work nationwide.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for reliable and hardworking Openreach Civils Operatives / Labourers to join our expanding Midlands-based team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with telecoms civils experience who enjoys working outdoors, being part of a supportive gang, and contributing to essential fibre network builds.

The Role

As a Civils Operative / Labourer, you’ll support daily civils activities on highways and footways as part of Openreach network projects.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with excavations, trenching, and reinstatement works
Supporting fibre and utility network installations
Maintaining safe working practices in line with NRSWA standards
Using tools and equipment safely and effectively
Keeping sites clean, organised, and compliant with Health & Safety requirements
Supporting the Gang Leader and wider operational team with daily tasks
Reporting hazards, incidents, and site issues promptly

SA006
SWQR Certificate LA, 01, 02, 03

Ideal Candidate

Previous telecoms or civils experience preferred
Hardworking with a positive attitude
Reliable and punctual
Able to work well within a team
Safety conscious with good attention to detail
