Company description

I'm an elderly gentleman who has cerebral palsy. I require 24/7 support to cover all personal care and domestic duties. I also need support outwith my house, when I attend meetings, or just to enjoy social events with friends. I'm looking for 'bank staff', ie people I can call on to cover absent workers. and staff holidays and sickness. Applicants must live locally, or within commuting distance to G83.

Job description

PERSONAL ASSISTANT/ Carer

The job description below is that of a Female Personal Assistant in Dr Elder-Woodward’s employment.

The aim of this job is to provide the assistance required by the employer – i.e. an elderly disabled gentleman – to lead a full life and participate as an equal citizen in the life of the community at large.

There are two shifts per day: Day shift 8am to 6pm Mon to Fri. Sleepover: 6pm to 8am Mon to Thurs. Fri 6pm to 9am. Sat Day shift 9am to 2pm, 6pm to 9am. Sun Day shift 9am to 2pm, 6pm to 8am. I can be flexible on hours.

The job involves all of the following, but not to the exclusion of other tasks and assistance which may develop during the period of employment.

Personal Tasks:

¨ assist into and out of bed

¨ assist to wash and bathe;

¨ assist with dressing and undressing as required;

¨ assist to use the toilet as and when required;

¨ assist with any other tasks involved in helping to deal with health and hygiene;

¨ assist to move, using wheelchairs and hoists;

¨ administer drugs, under employer’s direction;

¨ any other reasonable tasks as asked for by employer

Other Domestic and Sleepover duties will be required

General:

The employee will be given ample training before deciding to take the post permanently. The employee will be working in an attractive setting with a well established set of friendly staff. There will be opportunities to travel and assist on social outings.

Personal Specifications

Essential:
· The ability and willingness to keep the employer’s business and personal affairs confidential
· Experience and competence in providing personal assistance specified in Job Description

· Willingness and competence to perform household duties as specified in the job description

· Reliability and punctuality

· Flexibility and willingness to provide reasonable cover for other absent staff

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £14.00 per hour
