HR & People Manager
About the Role
As our HR & People Manager, you'll be in a newly created role taking ownership of all aspects of HR, team support and staff management.
You will oversee the employee journey which will include recruitment, interviewing, onboarding and providing ongoing support. You'll work closely with management to ensure staffing levels are planned, maintained and our team continues to thrive.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll become the first point of contact for our people and all employment-related matters. You will help us to continue building a positive, happy workplace while ensuring the business operates efficiently.
What You'll Be Doing
- Day-to-day handling of staffing queries.
- Handling of all recruitment.
- Managing probation periods, reviews, feedback and company expectations.
- Managing department rotas, staffing levels and budget reports.
- Managing leave requests and holiday records.
- Manage sickness, arranging cover and conducting return-to-work processes.
- Prepare weekly payroll, pension reports and handling PAYE.
- Lead performance, capability and attendance discussions.
- Lead any disciplinary processes if required.
- Maintain our existing HR policies and ensuring continued compliance with UK employment law.
- Maintaining employee records and providing regular updates to the Managing Director.
Qualifications & Experience
We're looking for someone who is organised with good time management and confident in managing people. You should have excellent communication skills and an ability juggle different tasks and challenges at one time. You will have HR experience in a similar people-focused role and be comfortable working independently.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience in HR and people management.
- Experience of recruitment, interviewing and onboarding new employees.
- Experience managing employee relations, including absence, performance, probation and disciplinary processes.
- Experience preparing payroll and pension information.
- Good understanding of UK employment law and best practice in HR.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Payroll (Intuit), Pension Systems and suitable HR software.
- The ability to prioritise workloads, solve problems and make sound decisions.
- A positive, approachable manner with a genuine passion for supporting our team.
Desirable
- Experience within a hospitality and/or retail environment
- Experience of workforce planning for a large growing team.
- HR/CIPD qualification (or working towards one).
The Job
25-30 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Rate of pay negotiable dependant on experience.
Pay: From £30,400.00 per year
