Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Role Purpose
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will support the delivery of marketing, communications and visitor engagement activity across The Alnwick Garden. This is a varied and hands‑on role ideal for someone early in their marketing career who is creative, organised and eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Delivery
- Underthe guidance of the Marketing & Digital Officer, assist with the delivery of marketing campaigns and seasonal promotions.
Digital and Social Media
- Create, schedule and publish engaging content across all social channels.
- Contribute content creation ideas and suggestions and assist the Marketing & Digital Officer in developing engaging social media content plans.
- Monitorcomments, messages and visitor interactions to maintain a positive online presence and responding in line with brand tone.
- Capture on-site content to support campaigns.
Website and Email
- Regularly update website pages, event listings, content and blogs ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Support email campaign creation including email builds, copywriting, asset preparation, list management and scheduling.
- Assist with monitoring digital performance metrics.
Design and Creative Support
- Under the guidance of the Design & Studio Manager, create and resize design assets for digital and print use, campaigns, events and on-site signage, ensuring all content meets platform specifications and adheres to brand guidelines.
PR and Media Relations Support
- Support on-site PR activity including media visits, photography sessions and press events ensuring they have a positive and well‑organised experience.
- Coordinate and assist with logistics for interviews, filming and photography opportunities.
- Ensure the external PR agency receives required assets and information, help prepare press information, gather quotes, and maintain media lists.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather stories, updates and content opportunities.
Visitor Engagement and Events
- Support the planning and delivery of on-site visitor engagement events that enhance the guest experience and support campaign objectives.
· Provide marketing support for event promotion, content capture and on-the-day coordination.
Administration and Coordination
- Maintain organised folders of images, videos and design files.
- Assist with gathering analytics and preparing reports.
Person Specification
Essential
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience using social media platforms in a professional or semi‑professional capacity.
- Basic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express, Photoshop).
- Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends during events.
Desirable
- 1 – 2 years experience in a marketing, communications or PR role.
- Interest in tourism, culture, or visitor attractions.
- Photography or videography skills.
