Job Overview

Are you 16/17 ? Join our vibrant pet care team as a Dog Grooming Assistant, where your enthusiasm for animals and dedication to excellent care will shine! In this dynamic role, you will support professional groomers by preparing dogs for grooming sessions, assisting during grooming procedures, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for our furry clients. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your animal care skills while working in a lively, pet-loving atmosphere. Your energy and attention to detail will help create happy, well-groomed dogs and satisfied pet owners every day!

Duties

Assist groomers with handling dogs safely and gently throughout the grooming process
Prepare grooming stations by cleaning and organizing tools and supplies
Help with bathing, drying, brushing, and trimming dogs according to grooming standards
Monitor dogs’ behavior to ensure their safety and comfort during grooming sessions
Support with heavy lifting tasks such as moving large or energetic dogs into grooming areas
Maintain cleanliness of workspaces and sterilize equipment after each use
Provide excellent customer service by answering client questions and updating pet owners on their pets’ progress

Skills

Prior experience with veterinary or animal care is highly desirable
Strong understanding of animal behavior and handling techniques
Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when needed for larger dogs or equipment
Attention to detail to ensure high-quality grooming standards are met
Energetic attitude with a genuine love for animals and eagerness to learn more about grooming techniques
