Overview

About the Role

We’re looking for Clinical Pharmacists (Independent Prescribers) to join our expanding clinical team supporting patients on GLP-1 weight management programmes.

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based prescribing within our remote model of care.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct detailed consultations to assess patient suitability for GLP-1 receptor agonists and other weight-management medicines.
Prescribe treatments in line with evidence-based protocols and clinical governance standards.
Monitor patient progress, review treatment responses, and make appropriate adjustments.
Provide ongoing clinical advice, education, and lifestyle support to help patients achieve sustainable results.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement projects, and wider governance activities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise safety, workflow, and patient satisfaction.

Training & Onboarding

In-person training is required at our Blackburn site.
The duration of training is a minimum of 2 days, with scheduling negotiable depending on experience and prior exposure to GLP-1 prescribing or digital health services.
Ongoing mentoring and support are provided throughout your induction and early practice.
Following successful completion of the training period, the role transitions to hybrid/remote working.

Qualifications & Requirements

Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification.
Prior experience in prescribing and weight-management services preferred.
Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and digital literacy skills.
A proactive approach to patient safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
