Hours: For HQ Day shift, the hours are 08:00-20:00 and for HQ Night shift, the hours are 20:00-08:00. For Events, the hours are variable based on the requirement of the event.
Join Our Control Room Team
Based at our Head Office in Andover, the Control Room Relief Operator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our 24-hour Control Room, ensuring the effective coordination of security personnel, incident management, CCTV monitoring, and operational support across our contracts.
In addition to supporting our business operations, successful candidates will also have the opportunity to work within Event Control Rooms at a range of events and venues. In these environments, Control Room Officer may undertake Event Loggist responsibilities, maintaining accurate incident and decision logs, monitoring communications, and supporting event management teams and operational commanders during live events.
We are seeking experienced Control Room Officers who are looking for flexible work to support our operations during busy periods, annual leave cover, staff absence, and event deployments.
Key Responsibilities
Control Room Operations
- Monitoring operations using internal systems and CCTV platforms
- Dispatching officers and assets in response to incidents and requests
- Handling calls from Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs) and coordinating responses
- Responding to client and operational enquiries
- Supporting resource planning and short-notice shift coverage
- Conducting welfare checks and following up on missed calls
- Reviewing and issuing operational reports for accuracy
- Maintaining up-to-date operational and client records
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry standards
- Providing general administrative support
Control Room Relief Officer Duties
- Supporting Event Control Rooms at concerts, festivals, and sporting events
- Acting as a Loggist, maintaining accurate, time-critical incident and decision logs
- Monitoring and recording radio and communication channels in real time
- Supporting event command teams and liaising with security, emergency services, and stakeholders
- Maintaining situational awareness during incidents
- Assisting with emergency procedures, escalation, and business continuity processes
- Producing clear, professional reports and maintaining accurate records
- Supporting multi-agency communications with professionalism and confidentiality
About You
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have experience in a Control Room, operations centre, event environment, or similar (preferred)
- Are organised, proactive, and able to prioritise effectively
- Remain calm and efficient under pressure
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Can produce accurate written logs and reports in real time
- Are confident using Microsoft Office and operational systems
- Have a high level of computer literacy
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and professionalism
- Are flexible and able to work on an ad hoc basis
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Are confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels
Requirements
- Ability to work flexible shifts (days, evenings, weekends as required)
- Reliable commute to Andover
- Subject to BS7858 screening and enhanced DBS check
- SIA CCTV licence (preferred but not essential)
- Control Room Relief Officerexperience (desirable)
- Knowledge of radio procedures and incident logging systems (desirable)
