Type: Part-time, permanent
Location: Manchester studio, Timperley, South Manchester
Hours: Monday to Friday, 20 hours a week (Hour allocation TBC)
Salary: £13.00 per hour
Overview
Uskees is an independent fashion brand based in Manchester. We’re in need of a talented design assistant to join our close-knit team working to turn an exciting young label into an established and influential name within the menswear space.
The role
As Assistant Designer, you’ll support our creative team and lead designer, working across the full end-to-end process — from initial concepting through to final sample completion. You’ll be fundamental to our design development, sample management, supplier communication and fitting processes, ensuring smooth, efficient finalisation of product and delivery.
Who we’re looking for
This is a multifaceted entry level role for a fashion graduate — someone looking to carve a place in a team building a brand from the ground up.
You’ll grow into one of our key creatives, nourishing your skills and career and showcasing an aptitude for design and conceptual thinking. If you’re looking to get a start in the industry, gain experience across the full design mix and build a diverse portfolio, ultimately owning your own projects, we’d love to hear from you.
About us
Uskees is a fashion brand with roots in workwear and a focus on considered, high-functioning menswear. We riff on classic fashion styles, reinventing historic pieces like overshirts, genres like suiting and cultural aesthetics such as prep. A design that prioritises integrity, invention and utility above all. Our garments, accessories and goods are all created in service of the contentment and comfort of the wearer. For every aspect of a life lived well and to the fullest.
