Full job description

Experienced Welder/Fabricator

Location: Amble, Northumberland NE65 0PE

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Monday–Friday (Overtime available)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our busy steel fabrication workshop. Working as part of a skilled team, you will manufacture a wide range of structural and architectural steelwork from engineering drawings to a high standard.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

Fabricating structural and general steelwork from technical drawings.
MIG welding mild steel to a high standard.
Cutting, drilling, grinding and assembling steel components.
Operating workshop machinery and fabrication equipment safely.
Inspecting finished work to ensure it meets quality standards.
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Working efficiently to meet production deadlines.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have:

Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator within a steel fabrication workshop.
Strong MIG welding skills.
The ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
Experience fabricating structural steel, staircases, balustrades, platforms, gates or bespoke steelwork.
Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A positive attitude with a strong work ethic.

Desirable

TIG or MMA welding experience.
Overhead crane or forklift licence.
CSCS card.
Full UK driving licence.
