Caring & Leading is a growing, family-owned care home group dedicated to providing exceptional care and creating outstanding environments for our residents. We are looking for a reliable, skilled and motivated Group Maintenance Support Operative to join our North East team and support our homes with planned and reactive maintenance.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their work, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and wants to make a real difference to the lives of older people.
About the Role
You will work across our North East homes, supporting managers and our Head of Estates in ensuring that our homes remain safe, compliant, welcoming and well-maintained for residents, visitors and staff.
The role will involve a mixture of:
- General repairs and maintenance
- Painting and decorating
- Basic plumbing and joinery tasks
- Furniture assembly and repairs
- Garden and outdoor maintenance
- Health & safety checks
- Supporting refurbishment projects
- Assisting with compliance and maintenance documentation
- Responding to urgent maintenance issues when required
- Supporting the wider estates team with improvement projects
No two days will be the same, and you will play a key role in maintaining high-quality living environments across our homes.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking someone who:
- Has previous maintenance, handyman, facilities or estates experience
- Has practical skills across a range of trades
- Takes pride in their work and attention to detail
- Can work independently and manage their own workload
- Has excellent problem-solving skills
- Is reliable, flexible and professional
- Holds a full UK driving licence
- Shares our values and commitment to providing outstanding environments for residents
Experience within care homes, healthcare, hospitality or residential environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
