Level 1 Help Desk Engineer

Location: Melksham, Wiltshire (Office & Client Sites)

ClearSkyIT is a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) supporting businesses across Wiltshire and the South West. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service, reliable IT support, and practical technology solutions that help our clients succeed.

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Level 1 Help Desk Engineer to join our team and help deliver first-class support to our clients.

The Role

As a Level 1 Help Desk Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for clients requiring technical assistance. You will diagnose and resolve common IT issues, provide excellent customer service, and assist with onsite installations and support visits when required.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least two years of IT support experience who is looking to develop their technical skills within a professional MSP environment.

Responsibilities

Provide first-line technical support via phone, email, and remote support tools.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and Microsoft 365 issues.
Escalate complex issues to senior engineers when necessary.
Install and configure laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, and other hardware.
Carry out onsite support visits to client locations.
Maintain accurate documentation and ticket updates.
Deliver excellent customer service and keep clients informed throughout the support process.
Assist with workstation deployments, upgrades, and IT projects.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential

Minimum 2 years' experience in an IT support or help desk role.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good understanding of:
Microsoft Windows 11
Microsoft 365
Basic networking concepts
Hardware installation and support
Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
Full, clean UK driving licence.
Comfortable travelling to client sites when required.

Desirable

Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP).
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.).
