Full job description

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Human Resource Manager will take ownership of the full HR function at Wellhot Ltd. This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for providing expert HR guidance, driving organisational effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with current employment legislation. The successful candidate will act as a trusted business partner, supporting managers, employees and contractors at every level of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. Act as a strategic advisor to the Managing Director on all people-related matters, leading workforce planning, succession planning, and organisational design activities.

Employee Relations

Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee relations matters, including disciplinary proceedings, grievances, appeals, and performance improvement plans. Provide expert advice and coaching to line managers on handling complex people issues fairly and consistently, and foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

Lead end-to-end recruitment campaigns across the business, including job design, advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, and onboarding. Ensure all recruitment activity is fair, compliant, and aligned with the Equality Act 2010, and oversee all right-to-work and pre-employment checking processes.

The person will also be responsible for self-employed contractors.

Learning & Development

Identify training needs across the organisation and design, commission, and evaluate learning and development programmes that upskill the workforce and support career progression. Manage the performance appraisal framework to ensure regular and meaningful reviews take place.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

Champion EDI across all areas of the business, embedding inclusive practices into policies, recruitment, and day-to-day operations.

HR Policy, Compliance & Administration

Maintain and update all HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practice. Oversee accurate maintenance of all employee records and HR data in line with GDPR, and produce people metrics and management information for the Managing Director.

Person Specification

Essential

Proven experience in a senior HR management or business partner role, ideally within an SME
Thorough, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
Demonstrable experience managing complex employee relations cases end to end
Experience leading recruitment campaigns across a variety of roles and levels
Strong knowledge of GDPR as it applies to HR and employee data
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels

Desirable

Experience working with a sponsored workforce and familiarity with UKVI compliance
Experience developing and delivering EDI initiatives
Proficiency with HR information systems

Pay: £41,200.00 per year
