Full job description

I’m looking for a female 1 self-employed personal assistant in Andover or the outskirts of Andover to share up to 20 hours a week to help and support me a 32 year old woman who is wheelchair bound with cerebral palsy. Help is required mornings and evenings as well as support to go on social outings during the day and evenings.

Weekly hours and what I help and support with.

Between 3 and a half and 20 hours a week including weekends.

Helping with toileting.

Help being hoisted in and out bed evening and morning (mainly evening at this time) ideally i’d like to be in bed for 10 pm/10:30 pm (sometimes it might be later if on a social activity at night)

Help with showering in the morning up to two times a week ideally after 8:30 a.m.

Sometimes I’ll need help getting dressed.

Help and support going to social activities including taking public transport. Some social activities might involve staying over for a night or two. If I decide to stay over for a night you would be doing sleeping nights only.

Be willing to be taught how to use hoist and learn how to hoist me.

Hourly rate between £15-£20.74

Be to work flexible hours

Have a UK driving license.

Being patient is a must!.

Accompany me to some social activities/days out

Being willing to stay over with me on occasion (sleeping nights only)

Like cats and other animals.

Have a sense of humour

Be trustworthy and reliable.

Be willing to have an enhanced DBS check.

Have a reference from your last employer

About me.

My name is Kerry I am a 32 year old woman with cerebral palsy (I can’t walk) I’m an animal lover who lives with 4 house cats and my parents. One of the cats is mine the other three are my parents. I love watching TV, some of my favourite show are Friends, Grey’s Anatomy and the split. I like going out with my friends, social activity wise, I go to the Hawk Conservancy, to the cinema, going to the theatre for musicals, magician night etc and I like having a laugh. My goal for a having PA is to gain independence without having to rely on my parents as much. I want to experience new things, have some freedom and live life.
