Job Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medicines Counter Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will directly impact patient care and medication safety. In this vital role, you will assist customers with their pharmacy needs, ensure the accurate dispensing of medications, and uphold the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for patients and support seamless pharmacy operations.

Duties

Provide friendly, efficient service to customers at the medicines counter, answering questions and offering medication advice within your scope of practice.
Assist in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications under supervision, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety protocols.
Manage stock levels by receiving deliveries, organizing shelves, and conducting regular inventory checks to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Support medication administration processes by preparing over-the-counter medicines and advising on proper usage when appropriate.
Maintain meticulous records of dispensed medications, patient interactions, and stock movements in accordance with regulatory standards.
Uphold all safety procedures related to handling medicines, including proper storage, labeling, and disposal of expired or unused products.
Contribute to a positive patient experience by demonstrating excellent communication skills and a caring attitude toward all visitors.

Experience

Previous experience in a customer service, retail or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy operations will set you apart.
Strong commitment to patient care with an understanding of confidentiality and data protection regulations.
Ability to work accurately under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, team members, and healthcare professionals.
