Blairgowrie High School is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of English to join our dynamic and supportive team. As a Teacher of English, you will:

Deliver high-quality learning and teaching across the Broad General Education (BGE) and Senior Phase, aligned with the Curriculum for Excellence.
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in literacy, language, and literature that motivate and challenge learners.
Support pupils to develop critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills.
Contribute to raising attainment and closing the poverty-related attainment gap.
Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress in line with national and local guidance.
Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including interdisciplinary learning, enrichment activities, and collegiate working practices.

Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for an enthusiastic practitioner who:

Is passionate about English and committed to delivering inspiring learning experiences.
Has the ability to build positive relationships with young people and colleagues.
Demonstrates a commitment to inclusion, equality, and wellbeing.
Is reflective, innovative, and eager to contribute to continuous school improvement.

You will have:

A degree-level qualification in English (or closely related subject).
A recognised teaching qualification in Secondary Education (English), such as a PGDE Secondary (English) or equivalent.
Registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), or eligibility for registration.
